WRITER
I've been a writer for the past several years, but am just now beginning to write works worthy of getting out there. My western american roots tend to show strongly in a large bulk of my writing, but I enjoy dabbling in SciFi, Comedy, and Horror as well. With a background in screenwriting and short stories, I hope to one day make a career out of writing.
DIRECTOR
Since the creation of a small number of short films I have learned that directing is a storytelling pillar that I want to be behind. While I am still learning, the skills I'm currently developing will hopefully land me in positions of creative control where I can fully express myself as a director.
SOUND
An unexpected joy of mine was finding that sound, as a general field in film, was something I'd be so drawn to. Having already served as a Field Recorder, Boom Operator, Production Sound Mixer, Foley Recordist, and Sound Design Editor, this new field of mine is quickly developing into one of my prime skill sets.
EDUCATION
Having already graduated class of 2016 from Idaho Falls High School, I currently study Theater, Film and Television at the University of Colorado Denver as a BFA. While the focus of my education is on developing the skills associated with the roles above, I have also gained a rounded ability to handle most roles on a film set or in post production. My education has made me familiar with the Adobe Suite as well as the proper handling of equipment.

Rising superstar Toby Smith (that's me, baby) is a fresh face in film with big ideas. Most recently known for his starring role in the 2016 film People from the Dark Side of the Moon, he has since worked on a number of student films including WWJD: What Would Jesus Do? and his own Going Wild with Dick. While he continues to focus on his mainstay passion of writing, Toby has been branching out into a number of film fields, and plans to put out a regular stream of content.
